Berhampur: November 2: A junior engineer was apprehended by Odisha Vigilance on Thursday for accepting a bribe about the approval of a building’s plan.
The Vigilance team apprehended Sagarika Mohanty, JE, NAC, Buguda in the Ganjam district, while she was demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs. 4,000 from a complainant to process the file of the building’s plan approval in his father’s favour.
The entire bribe money has been recovered and seized from the accused JE.
Following the trap, Vigilance said that simultaneous searches are being conducted at two locations of the JE from the DA angle.
Berhampur Vigilance P.S Case No.21 Dt. 01.11.2023 U/s 7 P.C Amendment Act, 2018 has been registered in this regard. An investigation into the accused JE is ongoing, according to the statement.
