Athagarh, Oct 28: In an unfortunate incident, an elderly man named Gopal Sahu of Bali village under the Khuntuni range was squashed to death by a tusker on Friday morning.
As per sources, when Sahu had gone outside to attend nature’s call, he was squashed to death by the elephant.
After the incident, demanding immediate action from the local administration against the frequent elephant attacks, the irate locals blocked the road on National Highway-55 for five hours by placing the body on the highway.
However, after an assurance by the district administration to look into the matter, the road blockade was withdrawn.
