Bhubaneswar, Sept 7: To provide more luxurious air travel to VVIPs including, Governor SC Jamir and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, the Odisha Government has decided to take two Turboprop Aircraft on rent initially for a month from October 17.
As per sources, a MoU for atleast 200 hour flying will be signed by the Odisha Government and if the aircrafts fly beyond 200 hours then the Government would pay extra. A Decision in Principle’ (DIP) to this effect has been taken by the Government, who will take a final call on this matter after the bidders would submit the required documents with the Government by September 26.
Besides two pilot seats, the two Turboprop Aircraft must be six to eight seater as per the Government plan and must have modern facilities like special cabin. The salary of the crew members is expected to be covered in the high rent of these aircraft.
