Odisha’s Lingaraj temple to remain open on Mahashivratri

Mahashivratri, lingaraj temple to stay open

This year, devotees will be allowed to visit Lingaraj Temple on the sacred festival of Mahashivratri, i.e 11th March. The decision was taken on Monday, in a meeting chaired by Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Commissioner.

Officals of temple administration and servitors of temple were also present in the meeting. The age group above 60 years and below 10 years will not be allowed inside the premises of the shrine, following Covid Guidlines issued by the government.

As per the BMC order, To avoid the crowd inside Garbhagriha devotees will only be allowed to Ada Katha inside the temple, barricades will be created to prevent such entries, said the BMC officials. Further, the performance related to the festival will be also conducted to make it special.
