Dhamra, May 7: Today at 10.23 am Odisha’s originally born Agni-II ballistic missile was test-fired from the launch pad no-4 of the Abdul Kalam Island off Odisha coast as a user trial. This medium-sized missile is capable of gathering more information on its striking capacity and for which two warships with radars had been deployed in the Bay of Bengal. The ballistic missile can carry both conventional and nuclear warheads of 15 kilo tonne to 250 kilo tonne. It is a 21-metre-long and 1.3-meter-wide ballistic missile and weighs 16,000 kg, having a strike range of 2,000-3,000 km and can be fired from rail and road mobile launchers.
