Bhubaneswar: November 30: It’s good news for State Cricket. Odia girl Sukanya Parida has been selected for the Indian women’s cricket team which was announced by BCCI on Saturday for the upcoming home series against West Indies, which will be played in India from 10th Nov to 16th November.. Medium pacer Sukanya has been playing domestic cricket for West Bengal. Twenty four years’ old Sukanya is the only daughter of Kalakar Parida and Swapna Parida. Sukanya is the 4th player from Odisha selected for India after Madhuri Mehta, Rosnara Parbin and Swagatika Rath. She was also in the squad of India Red team which won Challenger Trophy. The all-rounder is from Kendrapada district of Odisha and has done her schooling and Plus two from Kendrapada only.
