Cuttack, Dec 31: Encouraged by the success in rescue and rehabilitation of missing children so far, the Odisha police will launch the second edition of Operation Smile-2 from the new year.
A meeting to discuss the blue print of the rescue mission was held at the Crime Branch Headquarters in Cuttack.
DGP KB Singh discussed the blue print with more than 100 police officials from various districts of the State.
The operation will be divided into two parts from 1st to 15th January within the state and from 15th January to 30th January outside the state.
The programme will be held in association with Women and Child Development, Labour, Social Welfare and various other departments of the State in 2 phases — first inside the state and second outside.
Ten police teams will be formed for the success of the rescue operation. There will be 9 teams from Odisha police and one team from the Police commissionerate of police. Each team will have 10 members.
The Operation Smile launched on January 2015 for a month was successful in rescuing 300 children.
