Kendrapara, Feb 14: During the three-tier panchayat polls on Monday, violence erupted at Mahakalpada here. Miscreants looted the ballot box from booth number 14 in Jagdalpur village under Patkura panchayat and threw it in Chitrapola River. Likewise, ballot boxes from booth number 12 and 14 in Bangalpur panchayat here were looted, broken into pieces and ballot papers were taken away. In Ramchandrapur panchayat, after the end of polling in eight booths, miscreants looted ballot box from the polling party vehicle and set it on fire. Upon getting information of the same, the cops reached the spot and recovered all the ballot boxes. Investigation has begun and the SEC has been intimidated about it.
