BJP allege BJD for forgery in Vote count: Seeks SEC intervention

Bhubaneswar, Feb 27: During a meeting today the opposition BJP and Congress put serious allegations of inconsistency in vote evaluation at the Panchayat Polls and asked the State Election Commission’s (SEC) for intervening into the matter. A BJP delegation led by party Vice President Samir Mohanty met the state election commissioner RN Senapati and apprised him of the situation. He also alleged the ruling party for using government machinery during vote count creating irregularities in the final results of the polls. Yesterday at a party review meeting, the BJP alleged that the BJD had taken around 34 ZP candidates from them.

The Congress too met the SEC with a team led by Opposition Chief Whip Tara Prasad Bahinipati complaining of forgery in counting which led to loss of winning party’s Zilla Parishad candidates.
