Bhubaneswar, Oct 28: A day after the General Manager of Seaways Shipping was shot dead in broad daylight in Paradip, yesterday BJP pulled up the State Government for deteriorating law and order situation in the state and demanded a CBI inquiry into the incident. Reacting to BJP’s demand, local MLA and Excise Minister Damodar Rout blamed BJP instead.

Curiously, speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Rout had blamed the administration for the failing law and order situation in the port town while his rival Bishnu Das blamed him for criminalization of politics there. The local police, on the other hand, assured that they are doing everything possible to nab the culprits. Checkpoints have been set up at three-four places and have been conducting raids at all possible places including some of the slums. This was informed by Paradip IIC Subhranshu Sekhar Nayak.
