Paradip Murder Case: Stevedoring Rivalry to be reason behind murder; involvement of OSL in murder conspiracy: Central Range IG

Paradip, Nov 17: Central Range Inspector General (IG), Soumendra Priyadarshi today claimed that Stevedoring rivalry at the Paradip port is stated to be the main reason behind the murder of Seaways Shipping General Manager, Mahendra Swain that happened on October 26 here. According to the investigation, there has been an involvement of the Orissa Stevedores Limited (OSL) in planning a conspiracy to murder Swain. He further stated that the five prime accused people including Rakesh Choubey of Jamshedpur, Riasat Hussein of Jamshedpur and Mohammed Samin of Jharkhand have been arrested. Hussain had hurled bombs and fired the Seaways Shipping General Manager while Samin had helped Hussein in executing the plans.

The Paradip police also seized three pistols, 50 live rounds, two bikes, an auto rickshaw and XUV 500 bearing Jharkhand registration number from the possession of five arrested persons. Shiva and Manoj Gochhayat belonging to Cuttack had also a hand in this murder case and so are also taken into custody. He said that, with the arrest of Choubey as half of the investigation is complete, Choubey will be on remand again to elicit more information. Also the cops are trying their best to get hold of the other culprits who are altogether large in number as some of them conspired the murder and some executed the plan and the other accused facilitated the logistics to undertake the crime. Keeping in mind of the sensitiveness of the case, the Central Range IG refused to disclose much about the murder mystery case.
