Pallahada, Mar 1: Parents of a three-month old baby girl branded her with a hot iron in order to cure her from the stomach ailments at the Muktapur village here. The baby has been hospitalized at the Pallahada Sub-divisional Hospital as her condition worsened. She suffers from burn injuries on her stomach. The baby is undergoing treatment at the hospital. Her condition is stable according to the doctors.
Buduni and Ajay Munda of Muktapur village under Pallahada block here gave birth to the baby girl. She suffered from indigestion and her stomach got swollen. On the advice of the neighbours, her parents branded the child’s stomach with the hot iron instead of taking her to the hospital. As per the father, although the baby got some relief after branding but continued to cough and hence her parents got her admitted to the hospital.
