Bhubaneswar: September 17: The Passing Out Parade of 24th Batch Recruit Constables was held today at UPTTI, Bhubaneswar in a befitting manner. B.K. Sharma, IPS, Director General of Police graced the programme as Chief Guest and took the ceremonial salute. Sri Sharma also inspected the parade which was attended by 266 women recruit constables. Sri Sharma congratulated the recruit constables for successful completion of the training programme and called upon them to perform their duty with utmost sincerity and honesty. Constables are the foundation stone of State Police organisation. They have a huge responsibility to successfully implement the “Mo Sarkar” programme scheduled to be launched by Chief Minister on 2nd of October, 2019. Under this scheme utmost emphasis will be given on the behavioural aspect of a Policeman in the Police Station. A Police Man needs to be well-behaved polite and gentle while dealing with citizens. He also advised the women recruit constables to upkeep the image of Odisha Police by rendering self-less and dedicated services to the citizen.
Commissioner of Police Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Sudhanshu Sarangi gave the introductory address in the programme. Suryakanta Mohanty, ACP Training and Bhagaban Panigrahi, R I acted as Parade Commander and 2nd in Command respectively in the programme. As many as 10 platoons consisting of 266 women recruit constables from 21 districts participated in this passing out parade. These constables had undergone six months training which commenced on 22nd January’2019. Both indoor and outdoor activities constituted their training capsule. They have been tought on Major Criminal Acts, Role of Police in Modern India, Organisation and Administration of Odisha Police, Human Rights, Police behaviours, Police Duty, PT, Drill, Weapon Training, Traffic Management, Crowd Control, Un-Armed Combat, Field Craft, Yoga etc during training.
DGP Sharma gave away prizes and certificate to the best performing trainees at the end of the programme. Constable Sajani Sahoo of Puri District, Constable Dipali Barik of Bolangir District and Constable Madhumita Balabantray of Khurda District secured first, second and third position respectively in the final assessment test. Constable Parbati Sahoo of Jajpur District was felicitated for discipline during the training tenure.
Several Senior Police Officers of Odisha Police attended the programme.
