PEETHA camps at all GPs of Odisha from today

Bhubaneswar: December 15:  Odisha Government implemented the PEETHA scheme from today at all Panchayats of the State. ‘PEETHA’: People’s Empowerment – Enabling Transparency and Accountability is an Odisha Government initiative aiming at creation of awareness among people of Odisha about various schemes of the Government and will also improve transparency in distribution of individual and social benefits.

As decided, camps will be organised at GPs of 314 Blocks from 15th – 20th each month. In these camps, citizens will be informed on different Government of Odisha Schemes like Madhu Babu Pension Yojana, Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana, Rural Electrification Scheme, Biju Pucca Ghar Yojana, Chief Minister Artistes’ assistance Yojana, Nirman Shramika Yojana, Mission Shakti, Food Security and others. This will also enable the beneficiaries to directly avail the services.

Block Level Observers will monitor the scheme and Voluntary Social workers will assist in its implementation.

As announced by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, every month the best Panchayat in each block will be awarded with Rs 5 lakh for organising PEETHA. Upon completion of camps, the best Panchayats in each district will be awarded at the district level. Similarly at the State Level Panchayats, Blocks and best Districts will be felicitated and awarded with special funds.
