Bhubaneswar, Oct 7
Odisha government Wednesday launched ‘Pentavalent vaccine’ under the universal immunisation programme which will replace three doses of DPT vaccines and three of hepatitis B vaccine administered to children aged below one year.
The vaccine is aimed at reducing the number of injections among infants from six to three in future.
The vaccine would be administered at six weeks, 10 weeks and 14 weeks of age for infants at regular immunisation sessions implemented across the State.
It will be made available at all Government hospitals, sub-centres and immunisation session sites across Odisha.
The vaccine would be administered to all infants who would be entitled for the first dose of immunisation between six weeks to one year of age.
