Odisha police have not yet determined who killed BJP leader and Advocate Pitabas Panda. On Sunday, Berhampur police took three people into custody for questioning. Authorities have not confirmed the identities of those detained or their involvement in the case.
The police are reviewing CCTV footage from multiple locations across the city to track movements related to the case. In the past two days, three police teams carried out raids in the areas under the jurisdiction of Khallikote, Kabisuryanagar, Polasara, and Patpur police stations.
Sources say one person was brought in from the outskirts of Berhampur, another from Khallikote, and the third is a known criminal already under police watch. Police are now looking into their backgrounds and any possible links to the murder.
A few days back, Berhampur SP Saravana Vivek M stated that around 60-70 people have been questioned so far in connection with the case. Despite continuous efforts, the accused has not yet been arrested, keeping the investigation under scrutiny.
Pitabas Panda was killed on October 6 when unknown attackers shot him outside his home in Berhampur. Police are working to identify the suspects and find out the motive for the killing.
