Baripada, Sept 13: Seven persons were arrested by the Baripada police on Tuesday for allegedly attacking a police ASI during a Ganesh idol immersion procession here on Sunday night. Police have till now registered case against persons in this connection.
Notably, while going in an idol immersion procession, some youths had an argument with by passers following which the youths pelted stones at vehicles.
After receiving the information, a PCR van reached the spot. However, the youths manhandled the police on duty due to which an ASI and few media persons were injured.
