Police nab five traffickers of tribal girls

Berhampur (Odisha), April 23: Police here have nabbed Five persons who  allegedly trafficked four tribal girls, including two minors.

These girls were being sent to Tamil Nadu from Belaghara area of Kandhamal district to Tamil Nadu,

Police sources said that these girls were rescued from the traffickers on Friday while they were waiting for a bus at Belaghara bus stand.

The five accused have been identified as Ranjan Bag, Kesab Sahu, Bhujaraj Majhi, Sudam Nag and Minaketan Beruk of Kalahandi district.

The girls were being trafficked on the pretext of providing them jobs in  a spinning mill and good remuneration, police sources said.

Notably, as many as 34 minors, including 26 girls from Ganjam, Gajapati and Kondhmal districts, have been rescued from the railway station here while being trafficked to different states.
