Police recovers 3 more corpses of Maoists in Anti-naxal encounter taking toll to 27 in Malkangiri, Odisha

Malkangiri, Oct 25: Today due to the biggest encounter with the outlawed extremist outfit in Bejing forest under Panasput grampanchyat of Malkangiri, the death toll of the Maoists reached 27. The security personnel recovered three more corpses during the combing operation. With this the process of identification of the naxals has finished and soon these dead bodies will be handed over to their respective family members.

It’s stated that two belonged to Chhattisgarh while the others headed from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Meanwhile, strict note has been kept on the movement of the Andhra-Odisha Special Zonal Border Committee of the outlawed organisation after the major encounter by the security forces of Andhra and Odisha and Intelligence department. The cops claim to have struck a major success in this anti-maoists operation as the major high-ranking rebellions such as Aruna Chalapati, Gajrala Ravi, Daya, Venkat Ravana, Munna (son of dreaded Maoist Ramakrishna) & Pengal Suresh were among those killed. Eight women cadre are also stated to dead.

All of them had heavy cash rewards on them. The special police forces of Andhra and Odisha, supported by anti-Maoist police commandos Greyhounds, chased the fleeing Maoists deep into the naxal-dominated forest. A Greyhounds commando, who was injured along with another colleague, also succumbed while being airlifted to Visakhapatnam for treatment.
