Police to Begin Special Drive Against Black Film

Bhubaneswar: Beware! The Commissionerate Police has decided to begin special drive against use of black film, sirens and multi toned horn in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar.

Though there is legal prohibition, many vehicles are still using the tinted glass/black films, multi toned horn and musical horns posing threat to the safety of public besides, creating situations of confusion of hiding something and also contributing in road accident, said Police Commissioner Suresh Dev Datta Singh.

Car windows must allow at least 70% of visible light to pass through the front and rear windows and 50% for the side windows, the Police Commissioner said adding that a Special Drive against use of black film, sirens and multi toned horn will begin from February 10 onwards.

The defaulters will be penalized heavily as per law, the city police warned while advising people to adhere to the legal provisions and avoid using the tinted glass or black films, multi toned horn, etc, on their vehicles and voluntarily remove them before February 10 avoid attracting penalties.
