Bhubaneswar: Odisha pre-budget meeting will be held at the Lok Seva Bhawan under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today. As per reports, the pre-budget meeting will be attended by former Odisha finance ministers, economic experts and representatives from various quarters.
There will be discussions on the budget for 2025-26 in this meeting. The budget will be prepared keeping in mind the interests of the state. The budget session of the Assembly will begin from February 13. The Chief Minister will present the budget in the House on the 17th February.
The first phase of the Budget session will commence from February 13 to continue till February 21. Similarly, the second phase of the Budget session will be held from March 7 to April 5.
Yesterday Speaker Surama Padhy had warned that disruption in the proceedings of the Assembly will not be tolerated. This statement has heated up the political atmosphere in the State ahead of the Budget session. While Surama’s warning has raised political eyebrows former Speaker and senior BJD leader Pramila Mallick has strongly opposed the Speaker’s remarks.
