Bhubaneswar, Apr 7: Announced about the celebrations of the Odia new year, 2017, i.e. the Maha Vishuba Sankranti, the State culture minister Ashok Chandra Panda on Thursday said that the cultural department has planned for 7-dayer special programme that is going to be organised from 8th to 14th April. The theme for the programme has been planned Nababarsa Anuchinta; Sanskruti, Aeitiha o Parampara ra parbana (means “New year resolutions; Culture, History & celebrations of Tradition”)
Notably, the Odia New Year, which mark the beginning of Odia solar calendar is also called as the Pana Sankranti in Odisha.
