Bhubaneswar, Oct 27: On Wednesday, the most prestigious Sarala Samman award by the Indian Metals Public Charitable Trust (IMPaCT) has been bestowed to renowned poet Dr Hrushikesh Mallick at a special event organized at Mayfair Lagoon in Bhubaneswar.
He was awarded with this prestigious award for his book named ‘Jeje Dekhinathiba Bharata’.
The vice-president of Kendra Sahitya Academy, Chandrasekhar Kambar presented the award along with cash reward of Rs 5 lakh and citation.
Apart from that, renowned singer Dr Gopal Chandra Panda was honored with the Ila Panda Smaraki Sangeet Samman and the Ila Panda Smaraki Chitrakala Samman was awarded to Late Dr Dinanath Pathy. A cash award of Rs 1.5 lakh has also been given to the both.
Started in 1979, the Sarala Puraskar has been rewarded to various prominent persons by the IMPaCT, established by IMFA group.
