Prithvi-II successfully test fired from ITR at Chandipur

Balasore, June 2: The surface-to-surface medium range Prithvi-II ballistic missile was successfully test fired early today from the launchpad of Integrated Test Range (ITR) at Chandipur in Balasore.

The missile which is a joint initiative of DRDO and Bharat Dynamics Limited is a single-state liquid-fuelled missile that stands at a height of 8.56 metres with a base of 110 centimetres radius. It weighs about 4600 kgs.

Notably the first test fire of the missile was held on Jan 27th, 1996 at Chandipur.
