Berhampur, Aug 1: Prof Rajendra Prasad Das, the director of Institute of Management at Pandit Ravishankar Shukla University in Raipur, was appointed as the new vice-chancellor of Berhampur University by the chancellor-cum governor, S C Jamir on Friday.
The three year tenure of the present vice-chancellor Deep Kumar Behera expired on July 31.
Das stated that he wants to make the university as the center of excellence in the next three years.
Berhampur is the only university in the state that has got Grade A accreditation from NAAC. A former vice-chancellor said that the university is likely to get financial assistance from various agencies and government.
