Bhubaneswar, Oct 16: The pulses price is unlikely to drop before November end. Odisha Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Sanjay Dasburma expected that the normalcy will return only around mid-November.
He said that the government has requested the Centre to make adequate arrangement for supply of additional pulses at earliest.
Production of pulses in the country has been reduced by 25 per cent due to scanty and uncertain rainfall this year. Therefore, the shortfall in production triggered price rise in pulses throughout the country.
Notably, the price of arhar dal has crossed Rs 160 per kg as against Rs 84 per kg in May and moong dal is being sold at Rs 120 per kg.
