Congress is yet to decide who will be next Chief Minister of Punjab. Sources said, former Congress President Rahul Gandhi discussed with Party Leaders late in the night to have a solution to the current political development. Senior Leader Ambika Soni, General Secretary Organisation K.C. Venugopal were present in the discussion.
As per sources, the party wants a Sikh, Navjot Singh Sidhu, as the state Congress chief and a non Sikh CM candidate.
Besides Former Punjab party President Sunil Jakhar, names of Pratap Singh Bajwa and Ludhiana MP Ravneet Singh Bittu are in discussion for Chief Minister, Punjab.
Also, Ambika Soni is on the run for the post of Chief Minister, Punjab. Ambika Soni comes from Punjab and shares a good rapport with Sonia Gandhi.
In yesterday’s Congress Legislature Party (CLP) meeting passed Two resolutions-one praising Amarinder Singh’s contributions towards Punjab and another authorising President Sonia Gandhi to select the new CLP leader.
78 out of the 80 MLAs authorized Sonia Gandhi to pick the new CLP leader, the party’s state in-charge Harish Rawat told the media.
