Rourkela, Oct 10: Hundreds of rail commuters faced inconvenience on Monday as the train services were disrupted due to heavy rains and water-logging on the rail tracks near Rourkela station.

As the railway tracks at the station remained submerged with the rain water due to excessive heavy rains last night, Puri-Hatia Tapaswini Express, Ahmedabad express and Gitanjali express and some other local passenger trains were halted for hours.

The commuters alleged that the railway department failed to take proper measures to keep a check of the rain water on the tracks and held the authorities responsible for the inconvenience.

However, the train services resumed after some time as the station officials discharged the over flowing water on the tracks.
