Railway maintenance work cancels 9 trains and reschedules 20 b/w May 3-15

Bhubaneswar, May 4: Taking the repair work of rail tracks and the infrastructural development of several railway stations into consideration, the East Coast Railway (ECoR) and the South East Central Railways (SECR) have initiated cancellation of nine trains and have rescheduled 20 trains to run between May 3 and 15. In connection to the start of a third line between Durg and Rasmara stations under the SECR, four express trains, including the Puri-Durg Express has been cancelled between May 10 and May 15. Also in view of the modernisation work of the Dhanmandal section in Khurdha, three passenger trains have been cancelled and eight rescheduled. Likewise, construction work will be carried out on the Rayagada-Vizianagaram route and hence three trains from Palasa to Visakhapatnam are scheduled to get cancelled. ECoR PRO JP Mishra has stated that rail passengers will have to face some inconvenience due to the cancellation and rescheduling of trains but this infrastructural change and development is for the safety of the people.
