Rains to continue in Odisha; MeT Office

Bhubaneswar, May 19: Rainfall has occurred at few places over Odisha with heavy rainfall at one or two places over north interior Odisha. Heat wave condition prevailed over some parts of south Interior Odisha. Chief amount of rainfall occurred in Banaigarh (dist Sundargarh), Jaleswar (dist Balasore), Kankadahad (dist Dhenkanal), Kolabira (dist Jharsuguda), Burla (dist Sambalpur), Bhograi (dist Balasore), Hirakud (dist Sambalpur), Gurundia (dist Sundargarh), R.udaigiri (dist Gajapati), Odagaon (dist Nayagarh), Mahendragarh (dist Gajapati), Jujumura (dist Sambalpur), Lahunipara (dist Sundargarh), Champua (dist Keonjhargarh), Kuchinda (dist Sambalpur), Keiri (dist Sundargarh), Jamankira (dist Sambalpur), Sambalpur (dist Sambalpur), Keonjhargarh (dist Keonjhargarh), Jaipur (dist Balasore), Naktideul (dist Sambalpur), Barpalli (dist Bargarh). Maximum temperatures observed no large change over Odisha. They were above normal over Interior Odisha and normal over Coastal Odisha.

The highest maximum temperature of 46.5C was recorded at Titlagarh and the lowest minimum temperature of 19.0C was recorded at Hirakud in the plains of Odisha.

Having a partly cloudy sky and rainfall of 0.2 mm likely to occur, Odisha is likely to experience a maximum and minimum temperature of 37 and 28 degree Celsius respectively on Saturday.

The maximum and minimum relative humidity is to be 84% and 46% respectively.

On Saturday, rainfall along with thundersquall to occur in South and North Odisha and also in Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagarh, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Nayagarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Khurda and Boudh. Wind speed to be 50-60 kmph. Heat wave to prevail in Interior Odisha.

On Sunday, rains with thundersquall to occur in Odisha with a gusty surface wind.

On Monday, rains with thundersquall to occur in Coastal Odisha and also in Interior Odisha with a gusty surface wind to blow.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, rains with thundersquall to occur in North, South and Interior Odisha with wind speed to be 50-60 kmph.

As per weather forecasters, thundersquall activity continues.

For the farmers, rainfall along with thundersquall to occur in South and North Odisha and also in Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagarh, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Nayagarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Khurda and Boudh. Wind speed to be 50-60 kmph. Heat wave to prevail in Interior Odisha.
