Bhubaneswar: In a relief for the ration card holders who have not verified their e-KYC details, the Odisha government has decided to extend the last date to March 31. Food and Supplies Minister, Krushna Chandra Patra informed this on February 15, which was the last date for the updating the Know Your Customer (e-KYC).
Earlier, the Odisha government had said that there will no extension in the last date of verifying the e-KYC beyond February 15. As many as 97,77,351 families have enrolled in the under National Food security Yojana with 3,32,33,311 people in it.
On February 15, 2,99,08,457 people have updated their e-KYCs which is around 90 per cent said the Minister Krushna Chandra Patra. 341 points faced network issues as a result e-KYC cannot be verified. Out of that 230 places faced No network issue while 111 places faced slow network issues. This is the reason the deadline has been extended to March 31, 2025.
The government had earlier said that the deadline will not be extended beyond February 15. On failure of verifying within the stipulated time, the ration cards will be deemed to have been surrendered and forfeited.
