Cuttack: July 14: Subhrajit Ray, the prime accused in the Ravenshaw University ragging case has moved the Orissa High Court today seeking anticipatory bail on the apprehension of being arrested. Earlier Police has arrested Anshuman Mohanty, another student of the University, who was also in group of students doing assault on the victim and rest 9 students are yet to be arrested.
Following the arrest of Anshuman Mohanty, students of Ravenshaw University had staged dharna in front of VC’s office and later on in front of DCP’s office and claimed that Anshuman is innocent.
It is to be noted that, on July 10, a video of some students beating up the youth went viral. The victim lodged an FIR with Malgodown police regarding the incident on Monday.
