Bhubaneswar, July 29: On Thursday, BJP appointed KV Singhdeo as the leader of BJP legislature party (BJPLP), who replaced Basant Panda the two times MLA from Nuapada, had been in power since July 2014. Soon after the appointment, Singhdeo said he will discharge his new responsibility with all sincerity.
Singhdeo showed utmost humanity towards the party and assured of delivering his full potential towards the betterment of Odisha. The criticisms faced by the political analysts were also disheartening. They said that through this replacement that too just before the Panchayat polls which will be held in January next year, the BJP party longs to increase its number of votes which had once risen significantly at the time of Singhdeo’s tenure during the 2014 general elections. The upliftment in the BJP votes came as a warning alarm to BJD Odisha, as the difference between the votes bagged by these two parties was not very huge at many places, analysts said.
Notably, during the last election, the BJP party had won one Lok Sabha and 10 Assembly seats thus having a 50% increase in its vote share in comparison to the previous polls. The aim of BJP is to invest its money on social issues such as, Kandhamal killings, Nagada malnutrition deaths and Brahmaparivartan fiasco during the Nabakalebar last year, where the ruiling BJD turned out to be a failure.
