Bhubaneswar, Feb 5: Odisha government in a significant move has decided to relax the restrictions imposed on foreign tourists visiting areas in the State, especially dominated by particularly vulnerable tribal groups, to boost tourism industry.
The move comes after a high level meeting here where the guidelines were reviewed.
The meeting however insisted that the tourists in no way try to influence the tradition and culture of the tribal groups during their visit.
The government has made it mandatory for the foreign tourist to inform the police chief of concerned district and the Tourist Officer.
They will also be accompanied by authorized tourist guides during their visit, the meeting decided.
