Puri: April 25: Akshaya Tritiya and Chandana Yatra ritials will be observed on the premises of Shri Jagannath Temple in Puri.
A high-level delegation comprising Gajapati Maharaj, Shree Jagannath Temple Administration Chief Administrator, Dr Krishan Kumar, Puri Collector Balwant Singh, members of Shri Jagannath Temple Managing Committee and senior Servitors of the Jagannath Temple met with Shankaracharya Swami Nischalananda Saraswati and discussed the matter.
After the meeting, Puri Gajapati Maharaj Dibyasingha Deb said to media persons, ‘Swamiji has given his consent to conduct the Akshaya Tritiya rituals on the premises of Shri Jagannath Temple, Puri’ as the rituals can not be conducted outside due to COVID-19 lockdown’.
Speaking on Snana Yatra and Rath Yatra which are scheduled in June, Gajapati Maharaj said, decision will be taken after assessing the fresh guidelines issued by Centre and the State post lockdown i.e. after May 3.
