Three men and about 40 cattle died in a dreadful road accident that took place in the early hours of Thursday, over NH-60 near Basta bypass square in Balasore district of Odisha. Two people were reported severely injured by the officials present in the accident spot.
According to sources, a cattle-laden truck carrying nearly 100 cattle from Bhadrak was heading towards West Bengal when it got severely hit by a over speeding SUV which lead to overturned the carrier truck off the road. On being informed, police and Fire Service personnel rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies for post-mortem.
As per the officials, the two men who got heavily injured are identified as the occupants of the SUV and are being currently treated at a nearby hospital.
