Sambalpur/Khurda/Bhadrak: Yesterday three separate road accidents taking place in different districts of Odisha claimed lives of six persons.
In Sambalpur, a Bolero hit two persons including a woman near Jhankarpallie near Jhankarpalli area of Maneswar on NH-55. Eyewitnesses present there said that the driver hit a bike while attempting to flee from the spot causing the death of the woman riding a pillion. The biker was critically injured in the accident.
In Khurda, a bus hit a father-son duo’s bike from behind at Siko Bazaar. Outraged by the accident, the locals staged a protest and later ransacked the Siko police outpost. In a bid to control the mob, the police resorted to a lathicharge.
In Bhadrak, a collision between a car and a truck killed two persons. The car collided against the truck from behind near Charampa on NH-16. Locals rushed to the spot and rescued the victims.
