Balasore, Nov 7: A class-VII student Bhabani Shankar Mohanty died on the spot at Tarini Chhak in Balasore City as a School Bus hit him while he was going by his bicycle. As per reports, a speeding school bus coming from opposite direction hit Mohanty’s bicycle while he was on his way to school. After the collision, the boy died on the spot.
Irate over the incident, the locals demanded speed breakers on the road as seven schools are located nearby and staged road blockade by burning tyres.
However, financial aid of Rs 10,000 from Red Cross Fund has been announced by the District Collector to the family of the deceased. Besides, the same amount of ex-gratia has also been announced by the local Tehsildar.
