RSP CEO inaugurates new Training Hall, Museum of OHSC

Rourkela, April 11: ‘Abhigyan,’ the new Training Hall and Museum of the Jawaharlal Nehru Occupational Health Services Centre with  Library was inaugurated by CEO Rourkela Steel Plant Ashwini Kumar, recently.

Director in-charge (M& HS) Dr AK Singh, ED (P&A) PK Pradhan, ED (Projects) S Das, and other Senior Officers of the Plant and Doctors were present on the occasion held on April 9.

The new state-of-the-art training hall, ‘Abhigyan,’ will facilitate the conduct of different types of programmes on health awareness such as Lifestyle Diseases, Stress Management and First Aid & Life Saving Procedures besides observing special days like World TB Day, World AIDS Day, International Women’s Day, National Occupational Health Day and World Kidney Day.

The Museum at OHSC is the first of its kind in entire SAIL which exhibits different types of Occupational Health related diseases and hazards. This will help in creating greater awareness among the employees regarding their work environment.

CEO also visited ‘Dhanwantari,’ the Disaster Management Unit of OHSC and appreciated the arrangements to tackle crises. He evinced a keen interest in the Library of OHSC which is having many books and journals relating to Occupational Health. This will help doctors and paramedics to keep themselves abreast on the subject.

Senior Deputy Director Incharge OHSC  T Mishra who coordinated the programme, explained about the various facets of the inaugurated facility and also proposed a vote of thanks.
