RSP holds workshop for spouses of retiring employees

ROURKELA, JAN 22: Adding another chapter to the employee welfare initiatives, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) organised a counselling session, ‘ROSHNI – Saksham Sathi’, for the spouses of superannuating employees.

 In all 417 spouses of employees retiring between January and June 2016 attended the programme – the first of its kind in SAIL – held at Civic Centre here on Wednesday. 

P K Pradhan, ED(P&A) graced the programme as chief guest while Rahman Khan, GM(P&A) was the guest of honour .  

Overwhelmed by the amazing response and the large presence of the spouses of retiring employees in the programme, P K Pradhan, ED(P&A) who graced the programme as chief guest, thanked them for their consistent support they have put in for last 25 to 30 years, helping the employees to work efficiently. He urged the better-halves present to accept the post retirement changes as well as adjust and adapt to them for a better life ahead. 

Rahman Khan, GM(P&A), the guest of honour of the programme, reiterated RSP’s commitment to the welfare of its senior employees, ex-employees and their families. He appealed to the spouses to have a better understanding of the post-retirement psychology of their partners and adjust accordingly so as to make the transition smooth and peaceful.

 The first session on “Mindset for smooth Transition to a new phase of life after Retirement” was taken by S Panda, DGM(HRD),  while  G S Das, DGM (F&A) dealt with financial security measures. 

Bijaya Mishra, DGM (Personnel – Non-Works) deliberated on ‘Ensuring good health, well-being and Holistic Approach for a meaningful Life’.

 The session was made interesting and interactive through fables, movie clippings, documentaries, audio-visual presentation and experience sharing; and appreciated by one and all.
