Bhubaneswar: August 29: The Supreme Court (SC) on Monday issued notices to Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, State Election Commission (SEC), the district collector of Ganjam and the district electoral officer in connection with the dubious poll funding case.
Hearing the petition filed by Subash Mohapatra seeking transfer of the case to Delhi High Court, the apex court issued the notices and sought reply within three weeks.
Mohapatra had approached the SC citing possible manipulation of facts if the case rests with the Orissa High Court.
“The Court has sought reply from all the people and offices involved within three weeks,” said lawyer of petitioner Narendra Hooda.
Mohapatra had alleged gross discrepancies in poll expenses data presented by CM Naveen Patnaik in his affidavit during 2014 general elections.
