Cuttack: May 13: The school of Nursing at SCB Medical College and Hospital was closed sine die on Thursday after the students refused to call off their protest during a meeting with high level team comprising officials of State Nursing Directorate and the health department.

Students refused to remain away from the demand that the principal be either sacked or transferred from the Institute at the meeting convened in the office of SCB superintendent Pratap Rath.

On the other side, the internal committee formed to probe the allegations against the Principal has submitted its report to the superintendent, which has been forwarded by the Superintendent to state government for necessary action.

Though the students have been asked to vacate the campus by Friday morning, many students have defied the order and continued their agitation against the authorities for allegedly protecting the principal they have accused of maltreating a fourth year student.

Notably, Yesterday, a group of 3rd year students, who did not participate in the protest lodged an FIR with Mangalabag Police accusing that the agitating students assaulted them.
