Sambalpur: Amid India and Pakistan tension and war situation now security has been beefed up at the famous Hirakud dam in Odisha. Armed forces have been deployed on both sides of the dam while Rocket launchers with modern gunmen have also been deployed.
Meanwhile visit of tourists to the Hirakud dam has been banned in view of the security concern due to the Indo-Pak tension.
Besides, tourists have also been banned from the lighthouse in Kendrapara district.
Meanwhile, Suresh Pujari, Odisha Minister of Revenue and Disaster Management said that in view of the war situation, the state government is increasing its preparations.
As Minister of Revenue and Disaster Management, he has held discussions with the Chief Secretary and DG. Security has been increased in places like Chandipur, Hirakud and ammunition factories where there are central government institutions in the state. Checks and security have been tightened at tourist destinations in the state, he said.
