Bhubaneswar: May 10: WODC (Western Odisha Development Council) Chairperson Subash Chauhan died at a private hospital today morning. He was only 54. Chauhan got admitted into the private hospital here on April 30 and was undergoing treatment for liver cancer.
Chauhan was originally a RSS & Viswa Hindu Parishad member. He had contested in 2014 Election in BJP ticket from the Bargarh LS constituency and got defeated to BJD’s Prabhas Singh by a margin of around 11,178 votes.
But, before 2019 General Elections, he had quit BJP and joined BJD after he was denied a ticket for Bargarh Lok Sabha Seat.
On the whole, he had huge popularity in Bargarh Lok Sabha Constituency.
Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik expressed grief over the death of Chauhan and said, Chauhan’s contribution towards the development of the people of the State will always be remembered.
