Bhubaneswar, Feb 15: In connection to the complaint lodged by an RTI activist, Jayanti Das against senior Odisha cadre IPS officer on charges of misuse of power and authority, the Centre has asked for a report from the Home department. Special DG of Odisha CB, BK Sharma has allegedly misused his power.
It’s said by Das that Sharma had taken admission in LLB at the University of Law College, Vani Vihar in the acedrmic year of 2011-12 and 2012-13. His attendance in the first and second year was 75% and 85% respectively. Stating that Sharma had attended the classes being on duty in gross violation of the rules and misuse of his power and authority, Das urged the Ministry to initiate stringent action against the IPS officer.
Acting upon it, the Home ministry has asked the Principal Secretary of the State Home department to conduct an enquiry into the matter. Besides, it has also asked Sharma to reply to the allegation brought against him within 15 days.
