Puri, May 1:The priest body at the Puri Jagannath temple have again put up posters at various places near the temple requesting the servitors’ community to stay away from the second Rath Yatra coordination committee meeting. Earlier, the Jagannath Sevayat Sammilani had urged the servitors to be stay away from the first meet.
Notably, during the last year’s Niladri Bije, some of the servitors of the temple were suspended for allowing their kin climb the chariot. And with this the reputation of the servitors community has been degraded. The poster released by the body is an outcome of the same, said sources.
Alleging of being defamed by the District administration over the last year’s Niladri Bije incident, posters were put up during the first meet, urging all the servitors to boycott the meet.
