Set up of 4 Regional Cancer Centres requested by Odisha CM to Union Health Minister JP Nadda

New Delhi, Mar 15: Today the Odisha CM, Naveen Patnaik made a request to the Union Health Minister JP Nadda to sanction finance in order to set up Regional Cancer Centres, one at Bhubaneswar, then Burla, Berhampur and Kalahandi. Patnaik had this discussion with Nadda at the Sansad Bhawan here where he requested Nadda to grant in writing that he is permitting to two medical colleges in Odisha, one at Baripada and the other at Koraput to begin the classes for the academic session 2017-18. In that discussion, he mentioned about the financial help to Nadda. Patnaik stated to media that he requested Nadda to provide the remaining amount of the Center’s share of Rs 397 cr at soon as possible for five medical colleges at Baripada, Koraput, Balasore, Bolangir and Puri. He also demanded that the Centre should set up a Regional Institute of Paramedical Sciences Centre at the capital city as well. Naveen Patnaik will be returning to Odisha tomorrow after the completion of his 6-day Delhi tour.
