Paradip, Nov 15: The World Diabetes Day was observed at PPT Hospital on Nov 14. On this occasion, a walkathon was organised to create awareness about diabetes related problems among the denizens of the Port Township. Gracing the occasion as Chief Guest, Shri Rinkesh Roy, Chairman, PPT flagged off the walkathon in which the doctors, paramedical staffs of the PPT Hospital along with HoDs of the PPT, CISF personnel, Members of Paradip Ladies Club and general public participated with much enthusiasm.
Free Blood Sugar tests, Bone Mass Density detection, Body Mass Index, HB1AC, Diabetic Neuropathy and Funduscopy tests were conducted in association with leading Pharmaceutical Companies and Hospitals from Bhubaneswar.
A seminar on “Diabetes and its awareness” was conducted in PPT Hospital Conference Hall on prevention and coping up with diabetes related problems. Dr. Durga Prasad Sethy, Ophthalmologist and Dr. L. Padhuria co-ordinated the event under the guidance of Dr. P. Panda, CMO of PPT Hospital.
