Severe heat wave condition in Odisha has taken life of 12, 1 being confirmed

Bhubaneswar, Apr 12: On Tuesday the Odisha Government decalred the death of a person in Bargarh by sunstroke, this being the first casualty due to heat wave of 2017 in the state. On the other hand, Deputy Special Relief Commissioner Prabhat Mohapatra reported 13 sunstroke more death allegations to have been received from altogether nine districts but only one has been confirmed. He further stated that a joint inquiry has been done on all the remaining 11 death allegations and post mortem reports are awaited. All Government hospitals in Odisha have been instructed to open heat stroke wards and also dedicate special manpower and facilities including coolers, air conditioners, adequate drinking water and other requisites as treatment to heat stroke cases.
