In the most cases, people are getting infected with the virus shortly after the onset of sexual activity. Even when the infected individuals have no symptoms or signs of HPV, the virus can pass. It may take a several years for signs to appear and sometimes never experience any signs during the life.

Men are less susceptible to contracting HPV than women. Female to male transmission rates are 5% lower than male to female transmission rates according to HPV transmission rates.

6.Links To Cancer

The most common HPV-related disease is cervical cancer. HPV infection is the is the main cause for all cases of cervical cancer – the leading reason of death in women. 70% of all cervical cancer cases are caused by HPV types 16 and 18.
